Default House on the Edge of the Park

I'm looking forward to House on the Edge of the Park and Hoping Cinema Cult could release it in 2017.

Orly?

Well, here's hoping. I've had my eye on the Code Red Blu-ray for a while, but it'd probably cost me an arm and a leg just to obtain it.

Are these discs usually pretty light, as far as extras go? I just picked up my first, Flesh for Frankenstein - the only place, as near as I can tell to have it on Blu - and there's not much on there. Not even a trailer.

I heard around the traps that the CC DVD was possibly trimmed anyway, so even if CC released a blu of it, it's more than likely going to be a crummy upscale of a possibly trimmed DVD. Bleeeech.

Go Ahead. To hell with it all. Spend your children's inheritance. Order the Code Red blu with confidence.

I did...

Mill Creek level of 'light' on the regular.

That Flesh for Frankenstein is a 1080i upscale, but at least it ain't censored like the Japanese blu. See a few posts back.

Best option of that particular release around atm unfortunately.

Eh, no big deal - I was just taken aback for a moment. I only paid 15 bucks for it, so no big loss or anything, more just wondering.

Has anybody in here upgraded their Happy Birthday to Me Blu-ray to the UK Indicator disc? I own the corrected Shock/Cinema Cult disc already, so I'm really just wondering if there are there any major differences in picture quality between the two.

If anybody can chime in, or point me to a screenshot comparison between them, I'd appreciate it. If there's only a marginal or negligible difference, I'll probably just keep the disc I already have.

Thanks!

In for both of these providing the pq on Criss Cross is okay. The Day of the Jackal should be a huge improvement by default and i wouldn't mind having even an average version until a suitable upgrade comes along, if and when that would be.

Word is the Cinema Cult release of De Palma's "The Fury" features the same transfer Arrow and Carlotta utilized.

Does it look as nice? Any problems with the encode, etc.? Looks like my only A-compatible option featuring the new restoration...

I have both releases, and would recommend the Arrow over the CC, but I guess if you don't have a region free option then the CC it is. It's definitely 'watchable' (unlike some CC releases), and actually has some bonus content lifted from the Arrow release included.

The 4 Bonus Features on the CC lifted from the Arrow are -

Blood on the Lens: An interview with cinematographer Richard H. Kline
Spinning Tales: Fiona Lewis on starring in The Fury
The Fury: A Location Journal
Theatrical Trailer

Recommend grabbing from JB Hi-Fi now as a part of their 3 for $20 sale. Currently listed for AUS $9.98.

Link here.
