I don't know it is Fox after all. They had artwork for Archer too before they went DVD only.

As it's a first season I think a Blu-ray release is likely. They don't have past sales to look at showing that Blu-ray is under-performing like they did for Archer. Though if the first season doesn't sell great future seasons will likely be DVD only.

Knowing fox. They'll drop the blu ray after season 2 if it gets one.

True but they had those numbers before they released the cover art and date for the Archer blu-ray and dropped it anyway.

Given the reviews this is sure to be an awards contender and add that with the X-Men name brand and I don't see how it doesn't get a Blu-Ray release. I mean if The People vs. OJ can get one.

While I do hope this gets a Blu-ray release I am uncertain for a few reasons:
1. Fox/FX have cut back quite a bit on Blu-ray releases (I'm actually surprised Archer is DVD only and Strain is likely going DVD only as well)
2. This is a CO-PRODUCTION with Marvel, AoS season 3, Jessica Jones, and Agent Carter season 2 were NOT released in U.S. and AoS season 2 and Carter season 1 were overpriced on Amazon
The one thing that does make me think this will get a Blu-ray release is a lot of shows do get season 1 on Blu-ray

I would trust Nicolas Cage with my finances before I trusted FOX with a blu-ray commitment.

Yeah it's definitely a catch 22, and not just for Fox. Studios release season 1 and people assume they'll abandon it for future releases like has been done so many times, so they don't buy it... which makes the studios think people don't want it. At least WB puts a couple out through WAC that WB Home Entertainment gave up on.

Is it really a co-production though? Because all Marvel franchises have Marvel stuff on film but that doesn't mean it's actually produced by them... like every Marvel movie that wasn't Disney has "in association with Marvel Entertainment" on the back of their releases, but not "Marvel Studios presents", and the ABC/Netflix stuff all say ABC Studios and has the Marvel logo... but this doesn't even have that and just says FX and 20th Century Fox. To me, that's more like the in association stuff than actually co-produced.

If it comes out, I'll get it. Fox has a better track record than Disney at this point, which is saying something considering how bad Fox has been too.

Yes Marvel TV has their name on it and Jeph Loeb (head of Marvel TV) as well as others. Fox actually had to reach out to Marvel to do the TV shows in the first place so they do have a hand in this and the show coming to Fox next year.
That being said I am hoping this does get a proper Blu-ray release

Yeah, it really worries me when Fox is distributing a show on Blu. I hope they continue to release AHS on Blu-ray but, they could quit anytime. They stopped at 6 seasons with Archer and AHS has its sixth coming on home video this fall and its renewed for 3 more seasons.

I feel that Fox has unrealistic expectations when they release shows on blu ray. Do they expect everything to sell like Star Wars and Avatar? They're ridiculous! If a show they started releasing on blu ray doesn't sell well, I wish they would have some kind of archive program like what Warner Bros did for the second and third season of the 100 and the third season of the Originals or license them to another distributor.

It's Marvel and X-Men related and visually stunning in HD, so have no fear, there will be a blu-ray and it will sell well.

You can expect "Marvel Television" to be added to that cover as a selling point. Like it is on the poster.

I hear you, but American Horror Story is one of their staple entries. I doubt they'd stop the Blu-Ray release for that series. I don't know much about Archer's acclaim so I cannot compare.

Archer is one of the channel's longest running comedies and is their longest running original animated show. The show has been praised since season 1 to 7. The show has also won 3 Primetime Emmy's including 2016's Outstanding Animated Program. So it's defiantly no slouch with it's popularity. And that popularity is most likely why they kept the Blu-rays going till now.

Five episodes in and I don't know if I would call this a "good" series but it is a full on acid trip and extremely entertaining. Oh, and the devil with yellow eyes is the creepiest thing I've seen in a while.

I've watched 2 episodes so far and I don't know what to make of it yet. I feel like I'm high while watching it -- or should be high.
