Default Making your own bluray set?

There are some shows I like that may never come to bluray such as:

Rocko's Modern Life
Angry Beavers
late 90's Spiderman cartoon
Sealab 2021
etc...

I was thinking, is it possible to make your own bluray? Like buy the DVD sets of these shows (most of the nickelodeon cartoons have complete series sets), then buy blank BD case, BD discs, and rip the DVD's to your PC and re burn them onto the BD disc. Then print out cover art that fits in the BD case? I don't need to actually have them remastered, just need them to be uniform with all my other BD's

It's not hard to do with the correct software and equipment, but if all you're doing is lowering the number of discs I really think it's a waste of time and money.

Why?

I don't understand why people act like DVDs are a disease. There is so much good stuff that will never make it to Blu-ray.

Your not gaining any better picture from the process you suggest. Many DVDs have copy protection that you need to bypass as well. If uniformity is your goal, just buy the Blu-ray case, put the DVDs inside and add the cover art.

If you just want the blu ray cases to fit in with the rest of your collection then you don't need to waste time copying the DVD onto a blu ray disc, just put the DVD into a blu ray case.
Copying a dvd onto a blu ray does noting to enhance the picture quality.
