Default Please help!! Reward!!

Hey there guys. Im giving away a free Dark Knight Blu ray to the first poster who can help me remdy my situation. Ok I am having problems bitstreaming Dts hd ma from my sony 350 through my pioneer vsx-91txh reciever. It only seems to be on select titles also. where the audio comes out loud, broken and crackling like. Shoot "em up, plays just fine while the new planet of the apes does not, Band of Brothers does not, and I have had problem with Flyboys and die hard 1-3. all of my dts hd lossless plays fine, I've gone through the manuals, talked to guys at best buy, vanns and tried here. I have my 350 set to direct, if i set it to mix i can play them with only dts( which shows up in my display) My cords are all good. So i dont know if im missing a step somewhere, or its just these disks, Ive tried multiple copies of each. So someone help and the dark knight is yours

Possibly a bad input on the receiver, or a bad output on the S350? Try switching the HDMI inputs on the receiver, see if that changes anything.

crackling to me would indicate a speaker problem more than a receiver issue....are you pushing your speakers too hard?

It could be a series of incompatibilities. Based on quickly looking at the specs of the two units in question. The Sony S350 can only bitstream DTS HD-MA, while the Pioneer Receiver can not decode it. I could be wrong but, it sounds like you shouldn't be able to get sound out of DTS-HD MA period. I could have my words mixed up but, to me bitstream means it is sending the audio out to the receiver which then decodes it. The specs for the Pioneer list DTS-HD decoding but not DTS-HD MA. So, it could be as simple as that. Why it works for some and not others could be accounted for as a switch in audio that you aren't noticing.

Wrong. This receiver can decode DTS HD-MA.

When I play any other blu ray eery thing is fine, my reciever is 1.3, does that mean anything, like having to use analog video outs?

Ok, what kind of speakers do you have? What setting do you have your impedance at on the receiver?

Yes, this receiver is 1.3 compatible. To me, it actually sounds like a problem with the receiver. If it is being bitstreamed and receiving the signal, then the problem is most likely at the receiver end.

Your not experiencing any problems with your pioneer?

I have a PS3 as my player so everything is sent to my receiver LPCM, where the PS3 decodes the audio. No problems at all, I absolutely love the sounds I get from this receiver.

Ok, what kind of cable do you have. Try using your best HDMI cable between the player and the receiver.
