EDIT: And Best Buy has gotten 3D retail exclusives before.

It's not exactly a Best Buy exclusive it's a Best Buy and target exclusive in different packaging and discs.

Maybe probably even however amazon won't accept disneys new demands so I can not see amazon getting any retail exclusive for any Disney movie until amazon meets disneys demands.

I can see why you doubt it. Just FYI, it was Star Wars FB team that linked me to that page directly. The 3D Blu-rays appear to be Target and Best Buy exclusives.

That facebook post doesn't answer the question if there will be a 4K release only that their will be a 3D release at target and Best Buy.

We'll probably know for sure when pre-orders go live tomorrow. But for now, it appears that the 3D disc is only included in the Target and Best Buy exclusives.

Disney does not yet release movies in 4K, so that's not happening this time around.

My primary question was 3D. I knew Disney hasn't officially support 4K yet, but just thought I'd throw it out there to see if I could get a response from them.

That link to starwars.com is the best we're probably going to get. It's good that we don't have to wait till end of the year for 3D. But now, I have to figure out how to get a copy.

Maybe I'll get from Amazon UK, if they have it.

• Best Buy Steelbook [Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD]

Am I missing something? I think it's pretty obvious that the 3D disc is only included with the Target and Best Buy exclusives. Not sure what the problem is with buying one of these versions. If you don't like steelbooks, just get the Target version.

My problem is shipping. Other than Amazon, shipping from Target or Best Buy is cumbersome, expensive and takes a long time. I don't care too much for the special features stuff. But the 3D disc is what I want.

Not a fan of the steelbook art. The Target edition looks nice and has extra content. Will get that edition.

There's probably going to be future special editions though. Of course. And still no 4K support from Disney.
