Look in the hot deals forum on this site or do a google search for black friday. All of those sites have all of the ads listed on them. Sony, Panasonic, and Samsung are all good TV's. Get 1080p and stay away from everything else.

Also helps to know what size you are looking for, do you play games or are you into movies?

Well Samsung and Sony for LCD, Panasonic for plasma. I used to think LCD was good, but then I got into plasma which I think is superior. Go to the store and get a feel for what you like better but try not to pay attention to how bad they look in the store. They always look better in your home.

That's just ridiculous........ I personally would get a 1080p display if I were looking at a 50" model.... but that doesn't make your statement valid

If it were me, with $1200 I would probably be looking more at a 46 inch. With that much, you really aren't going to get the quality you want in a 50" unless you order it from an online dealer.

Always go for the 1080p, otherwise you will be kicking yourself in the butt a few months later, if not sooner. No reason to be getting 720p any more.

But yeah, you should probably go scope out the TV sections this week, before the massive crowd surge on BF. If the ones on sale end up being ones you didn't like so much... not really that much of a bargain, either.

I would say forget bf, and just order a panasonic from amazon. Someone posted on here a deal where you add the tv and the bd 35 and they take $300 off so you save about an extra $60 on the tv. Free Blu is always good.

I can't recommend Wal-Mart as a place to get an HD TV. They usually sale the lower end and close out models that are being put out of production. If you want to go to a B&M store try Best Buy or Circuit City. And yes, Amazon.com is a very good online retailer to buy from and have the best prices. Also, if you do find one at Best buy or Circuit City, go to their website before you purchase because often times their online prices are lower and the store will match the online price.
