ps3 probs - Blu-ray Forum

hey my brother in law's ps3 is acting up
it wont boot up and when he was downloading the socom beta is froze at 37% it would not do anything at all, he turned it off and redownloaded it and it did it fine but now when he plays any games or blurays it freezes up and it wont boot up? any suggestions??? should we try a new hard drive? now when he turns the system on it just freezes and wont even let him pick an acct to log into. i tried a post at playstation.com and got no help there if anybody has any suggestions that might fix it before he buys another i would appreciate it,,thanks

Yea, sounds like a cpu problem, might not be easily fixable. Did you contact Sony support directly?

not yet i was hoping for an easy fix if there was one. maybe i will have him call sony and explain everything to them. thanks
