Default Panny BD-30 Playback Issue

Has anyone else experienced this and if so, hoiw did you fix it. What happens is when I am in the middle of a movie and I hit the STOP button, the place I am at in the movie isn't stored, so when I start it back up it starts all over. I haven't removed it from the player, all I did was hit stop. Is there a playback feature that I am missing? Is there a button I need to press to get around this. On some movies I use the bookmark feature, but not all movies come with that.

Any help would be appreciated.

Here, Poached this from user "PowerKnowledge" over at AVS forum.

"This depends on the disc, and is determined by the disc. If, for example, the disc is BD-Java encoded, resume play is impossible. It's not the BD30's fault, and sadly there's nothing that can be done. Bear in mind that when the disc permits resume play, the BD30 will allow it too. Also, a number of discs that don't permit resume play are equipped with a "bookmark" function that will allow you to save favorite starting points, and can be used to pick up where you left off."
