Default MLB The Show 17 - Possible Bluray Online Franchise

Would anyone be interested in playing in an online franchise when MLB 17 releases? I was thinking have a draft so everyone has a chance to play on equal footing. I would think we would need at least 6 to make it worth doing. If there is enough interest we can all come up with a rule set that everyone agrees on. I would think that team choice (for uniforms and stadiums) would be first come first serve. If interested, post in the thread. I am totally open to any and all ideas to make it a good league.

I am shocked there hasn't been any hype in here for the new release. We are just a week and a half away. I know there has to be some Show fanatics around here.

curious what version you guys are getting. How much do standard and gold packs usually cost in the game? I have not played this in years.

I'm getting the MVP Edition from Amazon. I really like the Hall of Fame Edition from GameStop, but I hate GameStop and the Amazon Prime discount is just too good to pass up. Standard packs in 16 are 1,000 stubs (1,000 stubs is equal to roughly $1). There are no such things as gold packs, but they have different theme packs throughout the year that are typically 3,500 stubs (but can be cheaper sometimes). Are you planning on getting back into it this year?

nice. definitely getting it this year. The game modes sound great and the graphics...damn! I'm thinking of that gamestop version, but I to hate going to that place.

Is there any update with batting. I like some of the old psx games that used a box that you could tilt and swivel and move to hit the ball into certain areas. Not a fan of just hitting X to swing.

Yeah, I hate it too, but MLB is worth it haha. You won't regret it. Want me to put your name down for the league?

Sounds like you would like zone hitting. You move a reticle to aim your bat with the left stick and time your swing with the face buttons. You should sign up for the league.

so since i'm new to this, would you mind letting me know how the league works? when games are played? draft? etc.

Might need a week or two with the game to try to get back into it. Last time I played the game I couldn't hit at all.

We will have a draft to start the year. After the draft we will all decide on a pace to play the games at, rules, etc. I was thinking if everyone could play at least one game a week that would be enough time for everyone to keep up with the schedule. That should give the two people playing each game plenty of time to get together. I don't want it to be a high pressure league. I want everyone to have fun and it not feel like a job.

Add me to the league. I'd be willing to get my ass kicked once a week. Will be good learning. I'll take the la Dodgers

I think I'm going to preorder the MVP edition today. I generally only play RTTS only on the easier settings. I'm garbage when it comes to online play in sports games, so I'd probably be a bad candidate for the online franchise. However, it is intriguing.

The plan is to not make it a high pressure, super competitive league. I want it to be fun for everyone. You should join, it should be a lot of fun. I would like for it to turn into something we could grow as the year goes on. I've been playing a lot the past 3 or 4 months and sometimes I completely stink it up, so don't let skill level keep you away.

Well there won't be pressure to play at certain times. If there's any time of the week that you think you could get a game in then you should be just fine. I want to leave it up to the two players to decide when they play. The more the merrier.

Alright, I'm in. I'll take Baltimore if nobody wants them.

Ok, good deal. The Orioles are yours. I'm pretty sure we have a 5th, but am waiting to hear back before I put him down.

I'm hoping to get at least 6, but does anyone have an opinion on how many people we should take max? I think 6-8 would be a great turnout for the first league of the year, but I wouldn't be against 10-12. Let me know your thoughts.

Let me see if the wife lets me get the game first.
We're doing renovations on the house and it's quite expensive at the moment.

I would be in if the Cubs or Red Sox are available, in that order.

Thanks
