Default Am I missing out with 2.1?

I've had the Logitech X-530 5.1 speakers for a while now, but I stopped using them because they weren't that good and I couldn't find a place for the rear speakers as I'm on a computer desk in an odd part of the room. I've been thinking of getting the Logitech Z-2300 2.1 speakers, as they've had very good reviews. However, am I sacrificing a big part of the Blu-ray experience by going with 2.1 speakers?

Keep in mind that I do not own a Blu-ray player yet. I plan to order a Blu-ray drive for my HTPC once I figure out this audio situation. Thanks.

Yeah, I thought so... only thing is, like I said, I wouldn't know where to put the rear speakers. If I put it directly behind me, it'll look quite weird...maybe I can sketch up something on paint and show you guys.

And while we're on the subject, what's a good budget 5.1 system for a HTPC? I'm thinking of the Z-5500, but that would be like $100 past my budget of around $150.

edit: Here's a quick sketch of my room. It's ugly, but the basic measurements are correct.

you could just move the sofa down where the TV is and place the TV where the Sofa is, then you could get the 5.1 surround, front left, center, front right next to TV and 2 rears at the head of the bed facing inwards.

The speakers are for my HTPC though, not my TV. The TV already has 5.1 surround sound. There's one to the left and right of the bed and front left, front right, and center where the TV is.

My TV is outdated though (26" 1080i HDTV), which is why I want to use my PC as my home theater.

I'm a new member to the forum but I have been reviewing the site for the last few months with the intent to upgrade various peices of my HT. I needed to replace a 7 year old SONY HTIB speaker system and took the advice from Driver King regarding the PolkAudio 5.1 satellite speaker system. A marked difference in sound quality and reasonably priced. Had to go this route instead of a larger tower system due to certain restraints placed by the better half. I love the difference these speakers make. Try 'em, you'll like 'em.
