Default Just purchased a PS3

I have the PS3 with a Onkyo 705 and 7.1 audio. My question is with the audio settings do I select automatic or manual and select a certain setting?

Automatic should be fine. Just double-check to make sure it checked all boxes for you.

ive seen automatic not work correctly sometimes...

so if you want to be on the safe side, select eveything except AAC.

The only thing I have to add... If your system is only 5.1, don't select the 7.1 stuff. I had a problem on the new Harold & Kumar movies when the Ps3 sent 7.1 to my 805. I had a "popping" noise at certain parts of the movie, and it was NOT the DTS "bomb". I read on this forum that de-selecting 7.1 would fix it, and it did. Your not going to "loose" anything by doing this.

If you have 7.1 speaker set-up, ignore my post

Is this Harold and Kumar popping dangerous for one's speakers? I know the DTS bomb is, but I just want to know about this separate issue

I was told no. But still scares the crap that I might damage my Def Tech's. I still have not watched the movies again since I purchased my S350 and no longer use my Ps3 for BD's. I don't think it will happen now because my Onkyo does all the decoding.
