I wonder if this disc will fix the defective main menus on the Twilight Time release?

I have the TT disc, and the menus constantly freeze and the only way to unfreeze the disc is to turn off the player or sometimes unplug it. This is on two different players (a Panasonic and a region free Seiki). I contacted TT way back about this and they sent me a replacement disc, but that disc did the same thing. A few others in the thread reported at the time they had no issues, so I have no idea what's wrong with the menus on my discs.

They're not just re-releasing the TT disc, so it won't have those issues.

I don't think I had this problem with my TT disc.

I suppose a lower SRP might make a few people who didn't jump on it the first time around join the party, but honestly, how many of those people are there for a cult title like this?
You know, you just can't help yourself can you? Just like in the Being There thread, you make massive assumptions about other people's viewing habits. The Thundebirds franchise is massively popular internationally and they're exactly the types of films that people watch often.

Yeah, I guess popularity is the reason why Kino decided to release it on blu as well. Their other TT re-releases are DVD-only, but this one is the exception.

I've watched Thunderbirds are go countless times over the years, since I first discovered it on VHS in the 80's. In fact that film was my first introduction to the Thunderbirds. I still enjoy it every time I see it. I like Thunderbird 6 less, but it's still a good movie as well.

Glad this is getting released for others who may not have had the chance to get the TT edition. I never had freezing menu problems with my disc so I won't be double dipping.

I've had almost every version of THUNDERBIRDS over the years.

I bought the DVDs.

I bought the movies on DVD.

I imported the UK cropped BDs (before the 4:3 became available).

I bought the 4:3 BDs.

I bought the TT release of the movies on BD.

That being said, I won't get the Kino release because the TT release is excellent (I was not aware that anybody had a menu issue...no problem here).

Kino have a deal in place for MGM content. I'm not sure they do for Sony / Columbia content.

There is word that 3 Sinbad titles are going to be distributed by Indicator (Powerhouse Films out of the UK, who up to this point exclusively deal with Sony catalog titles). The 7th Voyage Of Sinbad, The Golden Voyage of Sinbad and Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger are the three titles. Not sure if they're going to be a box set or when they're coming out, but I imagine it will be in the near future.

P. S. Forgot to mention that they would be region-free as all Indicator releases up to this point have been.

There are already region free releases of the Sinbad films from Viavision in Australia using the same transfers as the TT releases.

MGM is cash strapped and will license out their catalog to anyone pretty much. So it figures this will not be the last TT sell out of an MGM title that reappears from another label. There will be many of them, most likely, provided there's a label that's interested in revisiting them. MGM certainly won't hold anyone up who's willing to pony up the cash.

I'm with Nailwraps on this one

I may double dip for the new DVD. I play the TT blu in my living room, I can play the new DVD in my bedroom

I too, own lots of US and UK & Australian DVDs and VHS tapes of this movie.

The TT blu was the first time EVER I'm aware of that had actual credits at the beginning of the film - all other releases I've seen have none at all
