Talking bought my first blu ray

I have been posting and asking for advice for a couple of days now on what to purchase and many of you ahve been quite helpfull. Though many of you suggested the PS3 I just have no usefor the video game aspect of it, so I decided to go with a stand alone player. I was going to go with the Sony BDP-S300 since at walmart it is being bundled with Open Season and Gridiron Gang, but my local walmart doesn't carry blu ray players, they told me to order it from walmart.com. I was about to when I saw Bestbuy.com had the Panasonic DMP-BDA back in stock for $599 (free shipping) with 5 movies boxed with the player, POTC 1 and 2, Crash, Fantastic 4, and the Transporter. I figured I can't go wrong. So now I will fill out my 5 free movies by mail and will have a bluray stand alone player with 10 movies for $600. Not to shabby.

Default need $$$ for movies now

Thanx for the advice on the movies, I think I am going to pick up the presitige despite the rot problems and probably rent apacolypto, I never saw Casino Royale, was not a fan of any of the bond films with Pierce Brosnan as Bond but will give Casino Royale a try.

Daniel Craig's Bond beats Pierce Brosnan down like 80's Mike Tyson fighting Bea Arthur. After you watch the first chase scene I dare you not to be hooked.

Default casino is great

yeah casino royale is awesome. daniel craig is a much more badass version of james bond. The quality of the picture on blu-ray is also one of the best released thus far. There are so many scenes on there that are just plain jaw dropping.

Congratulations! That's a great deal. I think you'll like The Transporter. Nice to hear you found the right deal for your own needs.

I was not aware of Prestige having rot problems....

I've had mine for over 5 months now I think with no problem...

There's a several pages long thread about that, with a few reported cases from another video site and one? reported here of a thing that is not rot that apparently might have been a manufacturing glitch on some discs, that showed up about a week after 'someone' suggested boiling hd dvds might give them laser rot one day. I think. Funny thing about the timing.
