That's another one from the VHS tapes on a shelf photo Severin posted over on facebook a while back. I'll be glad to replace my old Dark Sky DVD with this, what will assuredly be, the definitive version of this 70's classic. Well, minor classic I don't remember what the other titles from the photo were but I was very impressed with Severin's work on Cathy's Curse so I'll probably pick up just about any horror title they release.

Me too! I've been waiting for this one for a while now.
Now I just hope that the rest of those tapes were future titles as well so we can get the Horror of Party Beach

As a 70's kid I remember the T.V. ads promising a shocking ending, and when I actually saw it years later I thought wait, what the hell just happened? More like shockingly incoherent.

I was hoping for more of the campy cleverness director Robert Fuest brought to the Dr. Phibes films but William Shatner and Ernest Borgnine delivering hambone special performances more than suffices. Another drive-in classic makes it to blu, hooray!

Man, Severin has been KILLING IT lately! Burial Ground, Dr. Butcher, Wild Beasts, Blood on Satan's Claw, Dark Waters, The Other Hell, Anthropophagus, Beyond the Darkness and now Devil's Rain. It's getting hard to keep up.

I can't wait for this movie on Blu-ray, this was a favorite of mine, but I have not seen it in years. Last time I borrowed it from a library 10 or so years ago.

Thanks for the heads up, I jumped on that right away. That LE slipcover is pretty sweet.

Epic. Just epic. What a great year for horror titles! Not sure if I'd go for that pin, though. Don't wanna bring bad vibes into my home

I just ordered the bundle with the pendant: pray for me!

[Show spoiler]

I'm not a fan of their website store, though - you need to spend $80 (!) to get free shipping, and you can't combine pre-orders with in-stock items (which is a new one on me), so good luck reaching the free shipping threshhold.

I was sixteen when this came out, so I recall a trailer or something promoting the makeup effects as from those that did Planet of the Apes. That was enough to hook me. I remember I saw it in one of those "shoebox" theatres of the era. Anyway, not a good movie, and I'm not sure I really want this Blu-ray.

Before there was KHAAAAAN!

There was CORRRRBIS!

With KINGDOM OF THE SPIDERS, BATMAN VS. TWO-FACE, and now this, 2017 has shaped up to be Shatastic.

I clicked on the first link and ordered the standard $19.99 edition of The Devil's Rain, without scrolling down the thread and realizing that there was a slipcover edition.

That's okay, though. This film will be its own reward.
