I watched with my husband last night. Had to turn the 3D off. The ghosting was so bad. Put up with it for about 15 minutes, changed a few settings and then just swapped to the 2D disk. Watched Doctor Strange a few weeks ago and it was fine. Didn't have to change any settings on that. Was too tired last night to mess with it more than we did. Pretty disappointed, considering we didn't get to see it in 3D at the theater. We have a passive a 2016 LG 65" TV. Nothing has looked as good in 3D on this TV as it did on our Panasonic VT30 3DTV.

That is so strange that you had such bad ghosting on this movie. Watching on my TV I experienced no ghosting. I know for my set, shifting my head off axis too high or too low from the center of the TV can knock the image out of alignment, causing ghosting.
Regarding the 3D, I finished the movie yesterday and I'm still standing by my position that this is more of a 4/5 star presentation. Not much pop-out beyond the screen, but layering and depth was prevalent throughout. Mid-ground and background depth seemed pretty constant with a little bit of foreground, within the screen, occurring here and there. Still, I am very glad I got this in 3D. Side note: I also noticed that the review of the 3D on the website went from 3 stars to 3.5 stars since last I checked. Extra side note: The CGI faces for both Peter Cushing and Carrie Fisher were very distracting to me. There is still a long way to go on the facial animations and movements. Still very rigid and unnatural. Something about Peter Cushing's eyes really looked fake to me, also. Last edited by aetherhole; 04-07-2017 at 02:40 PM. |

BB always seems to run out of everything, it's like a marketing strategy for them or something (Nintendo does the same thing). |

I can almost guarantee that more people bought the steelbook for the packaging and not the 3D disc. Regardless, I'm glad it will make the 3D sales numbers look good.

Well i just finish watching my copy a few hours ago and thought the 3D had soem cool moments but overall was under-utilized. Still haven't seen my copy of The Force Awakens to compare the 2 presentations. Rogue One did have a few moments where it showed some great depth moments near the end during the big battle, and a few guns pertrudding the screen a couple of times, but overall a bit of a disappoitment. Still glad i have my 3D copy and the cool steelbook though
![]() ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY (3D) 3.5/5 PQ: 4.5/5 3D: 3.5/5 AQ: 4.25/5 Someone needs to get Disney's ass going on releasing movies with an ATMOS or DTS:X track damnit. Slightly disappointed on the overall sounds after being spoiled by Deepwater Horizon, Hacksaw Ridge and even Sing's Atmos offerings. |

what I have to say and conclude is a bit odd, but the 3D on the bluray is superior to what I saw in IMAX-laser 3D - the latter was pointless and unengaging, on the bluray however - wow! the layer and specifically in a few places, I almost wanted to reach in and touch objects.

Watching this now, experience is very similar to what I saw at the cinema, mild and unimpressive. I hate conversions yet I keep buying them. I can't wait for Transformers.

The steeelbook is one of only two ways to get the 3D version. So I'm betting a good number of steelbooks were bought for the 3D disc. There's only one other way to get it in the US.

The Best Buy steelbook of Rogue One was the ONLY way to get the 3D disc in Canada. I was OK with that, at least it was available.

Ok finally got to watch this today (had been waiting on the guy to come calibrate my Tv) and I have to say imo the 3d looked good. Some scenes looked better than others but overall the depth looked good. I will only watch the 3d version now after seeing how good it looked on my OLED.

If you can, check out amazon.co.uk. They usually have it listed under the features/specifications. Won't they be restocking bestbuy soon in your area? Maybe better off to wait, as the UK version is usually region B.
