Default HELP: Denon DHT-589BA

hey guys, thanks for the help in advance.

I have a PS3, recently purchased a 46inch sammy lcd, and have this Denon: http://www.amazon.com/Denon-DHT-589BA-5-1-Channel-Theater-System/dp/B001CSEZY6/ref=sr_1_48?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1227902686&s r=1-48

coming in soon. I am somewhat of a n00b when it comes to surround audio. So, my question is how do I connect my ps3 to the receiver and the TV. I know the best possible route is using 2 HDMI cables, but I also read that I might have to use 1 HDMI cable from ps3 to the TV and an optical cable from the PS3 to the receiver.

Which way is best?

thanks!

That looks like it would be a nice set up. I would just check to make sure it has multi-channel PCM so you can get the lossless audios. As far as hooking it up, BDP>HDMI>Receiver>HDMI>TV

The 589 only does video over the HDMI. Therefore, you can only do audio via optical from the PS3 and that means NO HD audio. You will only get the lossy DD and DTS tracks. You would need to move up to the 789 in order to get HD audio via PCM over HDMI.
