Default Smallville blu-ray v.s. DVD?

So I bought my son S. 1-5 of Smallville but I seen the other seasons are available in blu-ray.

Can anyone attest to the blu-ray being superior?

I ask becasue I do own numerous sets in which the DVD looks really good and actually not that far off from the blu-ray counterpart

Stick with the DVDs. The Blu's are incomplete. They only have Season 6 - 10 on Blu. There is no complete pack at this time.

Cool thanks

I did see a few complaints of the HD transfer online and that it may not be worth it. I have the season 4 set already and the DVD's look pretty good

As one who would love to have Smallville on blu ray, I chose to stick to the DVD's with this one. Not worth having half of the season on DVD and the other half on blu.

Sure, the difference between DVD vs Bluray is the same as flat paint vs high gloss, but even flat paint can still display a beautiful picture without all the gloss over it.

If they ever release a full set on blu, I might reconsider, but till then, I think we should just be satisfied having the entire set available.

I've got 1-5 on DVD and 6-10 on BD.

BD is clearly superior, although the DVDs are far from bad.

It's a similar situation to Bones, some on BD, some on DVD. I'd rather have what's available on BD TBH rather than 'settle' for SD across the board....

Please look at this we all need to do this

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...&postcount=142

Remember they released Constantine on Blu-Ray. Smallville will sell way more people already have season 6-10 on Blu and would love to have season 1-5 on Blu-Ray as well. Its an extremely popular show.

I also have S1-S5 on DVD and S6-S10 BD. But the picture quality on S6 isn't anything to write home about.

I'd recommend you just buy the HD versions on Amazon.com. They look great.

DVD is pretty good S1 - S5, while S6 - S10 on Blu Ray.

I shared this on another Smallville thread, seasons 1-5 are listed as pending but it could be for a good reason

I wish WB would put the first five seasons on Blu-Ray via the Warner Archive Collection.

If they had Blu-Ray exclusive features, I'd pick them up but since they don't seem to I'd rather keep my Smallville seasons looking uniform on the shelf. I hate having some DVD and some Blu-Ray. I'm not usually anal about conformity, but it looks weird to see the height differences within the same series.
