I just checked amazon and they have Sin City blu-ray for pre order being released on 12/2/08! Is this possibly a mistake?

Nope...its an import edition.

It looks like its the canadian edition. In the picture of the blu-ray cover, just below the Sin City title, has the title in french and in the lower right hand corner has the Alliance logo (a canadian company)

This looks just like my copy I bought weeks ago.
