Possible defect with US Arrow release for Donnie Darko. On the director's cut at chapter 8 shortly after the one hour and twenty second mark my copy freezes and then skips a few seconds. The disc is spotless. It may only occur when watching the entire film up until that point. I and someone else tried just skipping to that part and it worked fine. Not sure if there are any issues with the theatrical version.

this sounds like a bunch of typical over-reactions - nitpicking from certain members looking for issues
I just read bluray.coms reviews of 3 of the films listed above and one "fault" wasn't even mentioned, and the other 2 were said to be unnoticeable..... I think that framing issues such as The recent Hammer set that went from 1:66/1:85 aspect ratios to 2:35 is valid, this stuff doesn't appear to be.... PS-- I am not referring to the acknowledged discs that have replacement programs.... |

The nitpickers are totally wrong, the makers of Creepshow II obviously meant for the animation to show as incomplete, and the shots were clearly composed so make sure you could see the light stand in the background.

that's what I read, it was supposed to be 1:66, people are complaining about a compromised U.S. version! |

Going by whst a reviewr picks up on isn't exactly the best way to gauge whether there are issues or not. They're not exactly on the lookout for issues like many members here are. Pretty much all the issues mentioned sre valid, some just aren't a huge deal. Arrow even acknowledged some of them.
The only questionable one is for Blood and Black Lace, and ironically the site reviewer agrees that Arrow botched it. I also believe it was cropped incorrectly, but that's a whole can of worms I'd rather not reopen |

I think you nailed it though on the comments about issues being valid but not a huge deal.... |

Here's a pretty thorough look at the misframed "Creepshow 2" disc, though be warned that it seems to take a while to load, because there are a lot of screenshots showing all sorts of issues: http://www.dvdexotica.com/2017/02/co...creepshow.html |

Not necessarily. They are usually on tight schedules, so they don't have time to focus on a particular title and analyze thoroughly. Many base their reviews from the impressions they get when watching the movie straight through. I believe that's what Pro-B said he does for instance. Reviewers are human, so I can't knock them from for missing things, or getting some stuff wrong. There's some in the forum that have more time to dedicate to a movie, and do things like analyze a still shot at 300% zoom to see if there's a hair on the lens, etc..

I have to disagree as well. Definitely not trying to argue or anything at all but I've noticed problematic discs that the reviews on here, Hi Def Digest or other sites didn't mention.
