Looks kind of ridiculous. But if you're going to have a fish tank in your HT room, I'd go with that.

Well, ya know cheese is pretty good !

I see you have switched your avatar to the big bad 800 series. Is your plan a five year plan or 7 year plan to get those ?

I just described that fishtank to my wife in the next room and she asked if it was a hint.
I don't think I'll bite, but it is kinda cool, in a really dorky way

Stalin ended up going with 2 5-Year Plans to industrialize the Soviet Union. This is a 15-Year Plan, if even,

If you have a lot of other Star Wars items in your HT room, I'd go for it. Otherwise, I'd pass.

I think its pretty cool. Nostalgic.

Have you owned a fish aquarium before? ...its no easy task to keep it going. You have to be fairly dedicated to cleaning or else it will get out of hand and can actually detract from being "cool" in the HT room.

Tempting. Very unique.

I'd be up for something more along the lines in this with the Interactive R2...

Yeah. I wonder what the maintenance would end up being like with the the R2 aquaruim.

well, if he's using a room with no windows it would actually be fairly easy. But if his HT room has windows and sunlight gets to the tank...then you have to worry about algae and water temp/evaporation etc.

I use to have a 90 gallon tank when I was in high school, but I was seriously into fishtanks...so it was fun.

But now I have a 10 gallon tank and no free time, so now its an extra "chore" to keep going. Im actually ready to get rid of it. I keep it in a room with many windows so its an uphill battle. Im ready to call it quits.

1.8 gallons is kind of small. It comes with a filter, probably a small screen type. Just don't put too many fish in it. You could probably get away with a trio of small Tetras, like Neons or even Danios.

tetras like to school in groups of 6 to 8 and this aquarium seems a bit small for that.

How about the celestial danios, perhaps, this kind of smaller fish may work.

I've often wondered about putting an aquarium inside a dedicate home theater.

Do you think the sounds from the speakers/subwoofers might harm the fish? Or drive them crazy?

I keep thinking of the scene in Finding Nemo.... Darla tapping the tank.

I'm thinking of a larger tank with much more surface area.

It might cause a situation if the volume was too loud or the subwoofer is getting a good workout pumping so much energy that vibrations scared the aquatic life or put them into shock.

If there was something that could absorb the soundwaves before it got to the aquarium its possible no effect would occur or keep the volume turned down or sub off.
