Another thing to keep in mind is this....

Some cars cannot be imported at all and if you're caught, it could land you in a federal prison.

One definite that comes to mind are TVR's.

Yep, the Feds wait till there is X amount of these cars in a radius area, then they go around and round up cars/people.

Basically most cars that are 25 years old could be eligible. Some can be registered for 'show or display only' (very little miles could be driven legally R34). Nissan R32s, Nissan 180sx, Celica Alltrac, Fd Rx7, FC RX7s, Honda NSX, Toyota Soarers. I would give a reputable dealer like International Vehicle Importers a call (or email) and they will give you a straight up answer on what you want that can be imported. Since you are in Kentucky, you can get what you want without the CA extra tax for registration. Some folks are taking orders for the MKIV Supra turbos to be brought in but the federal testing hasn't been done yet so that is a huge risk trying to get the car registered. Also if buying from a private seller, have the paperwork checked out to make sure the right VINs match up to the car.
