I really thought this was a fun list, as it is my favorite movie genre.
Several of you mentioned that it was your favorite as well, and it was great
to compile everyone's favorite noirs. Yes, I counted all lists and films, even
if the list was not 25 or a film isn't necessarily in the noir dictionary.
Your opinion matters!

Again, the point system:
#1 50 points
#2 45 points
#3 40 points
#4 35 points
#5 30 points
#6 25 points
#7 20 points
#8-25 19-2 points
#26 and below 1 point

Any tie breakers are determined by number of votes submitted for the film,
then which ranked highest.

Now to the results!

It's a real shame they never air these oldies over here. So much I still need and want to see. Going to be an interesting list for me to figure out where to start.

Wouldn't have considered Wages of Fear a film noir until I saw it on other peoples' list. I got to admit, the first act of it is very stylish and noir-like, so I did vote on it highly. I remember it's a heck of a film.

Totally forgot about Road to Perdition. Great crime film.

Ace in the Hole is a good film with a very interesting and profound premise.

Sin City is probably the first time I consciously divulged in film noir. I was overseas at the time and I saw one of the bloodiest parts playing on the TV in the PX. It grabbed my attention and I had to rent it. Didn't know what to make of it at first, but I definitely resonated with the noir tropes and cliches it embraced and cranked to overload. I wound up loving the film on repeat viewings, and now consider it essential.

Been wanting to see Key Largo and Lady from Shanghai for a while now.

Lots of good films in the HM list. I did vote highly on John Wick, but I got to admit it's probably better placed as an HM rather than one of the top 50.

I have actually never seen two films in the top 50: The Wages of Fear or Ride the Pink Horse. I've been looking for Ride the Pink Horse to come on TCM for several years.

So far I haven't seen about 2/3 of the movies. That's what's makes it so interesting to follow.

I have to admit that I've never thought of Taxi Driver or Fight Club as noir's.

nor have I, and then probably the greatest film noir film made from the 80's onward (BODY HEAT) doesn't even crack the top 50!

Well, Neo-Noir being included, prepare for more (pleasantly) surprises that way.
