Played a bit of this last night, and it's great! I activated turning via the right stick, and I'm not sure how they did it, but it didn't make me queasy on bit. RE7 gave me slight nausea when I activated 360 turning. It must be the difference between the claustrophobic spaces of RE7 vs. the wide open vistas of Farpoint.

I tried all of the control options but find the standard one the most immersive. So that means no turning stick, instead I have to actually move my own body in the direction I want to shoot. It's great fun running around an enemy while simultaneously shooting it.

That sounds cool. Can you rotate 180 degrees behind you to attack the spiders?

![]() The game itself, it is basically, a on rails shooter but it's a fine introduction to the Aim controller. I especially like it when you get to aim down the sights. I am excited about the potential FPS we could be experiencing down the line. |

Since I hear the game allows you to freely move around, when you say on rails, I'm picturing the enemies appear in the same spots each time as you progress through the scripted scenes. Do you think if games like Call of Duty or Destiny offered full VR modes in addition to the regular FPS modes, that it would translate well to the current PSVR set up? Can the aim weapon controller allow for free movement too? |

I wouldn't call this an onrails shooter since you can move around freely. It's a linear FPS and not like Rush Of Blood which is a true onrails shooter. Matter of fact Farpoint reminded me of Halo a couple of times. I really like how there are parts in the game when you're just walking around with few or no enemies around. It really gives you a sense of being on another planet. And then you take a look behind you and you see your shadow moving along, it's nice little touches like these that makes this a great game.
Too bad I just completed the game, its campaign isn't really long especially if you're playing this for hours on straight. I'm looking forward in trying the co-op mode and definitely will play the campaign mode again. The game plays great, looks great and some parts of the game really have to be played first habd to be believed. I consider Farpoint one of my favorite PS VR games now and as far as immersion goes, it's right up there with REVII, Batman, Rush Of Blood, Rogue One mission and London Heist. ![]() Can't wait for more FPS games using the aim controller. A new Killzone game where you can play the entire campaign in VR perhaps..... |

![]() I was more impressed with the gun than the actual game though. I enjoyed RE more to be honest. |

No different difficulties or additional options to the ones that were already there from the beginning. But even with its rather short campaign you'd want to go through it again just because it's so awesome and fun to play. Hopefully we'll get a sequel or additional content, wouldn't mind paying for some story expansions. Haven't tried the co-op mode yet, matter of fact I haven't had PS Plus in over a year. ![]() |
