Played a bit of this last night, and it's great! I activated turning via the right stick, and I'm not sure how they did it, but it didn't make me queasy on bit. RE7 gave me slight nausea when I activated 360 turning. It must be the difference between the claustrophobic spaces of RE7 vs. the wide open vistas of Farpoint.

Glad you enjoying it. I get to play it at weekend.

I tried all of the control options but find the standard one the most immersive. So that means no turning stick, instead I have to actually move my own body in the direction I want to shoot. It's great fun running around an enemy while simultaneously shooting it.

That sounds cool. Can you rotate 180 degrees behind you to attack the spiders?

How do you like the game so far, Steedeel? Fun, challenging? How's the replay value in VR for it?

The Aim took me by surprise mate. I love it, just for a second I actually thought I was there with that gun!
The game itself, it is basically, a on rails shooter but it's a fine introduction to the Aim controller. I especially like it when you get to aim down the sights.
I am excited about the potential FPS we could be experiencing down the line.

Thanks for the review. Good to hear the aim weapon works well in VR.
Since I hear the game allows you to freely move around, when you say on rails, I'm picturing the enemies appear in the same spots each time as you progress through the scripted scenes.

Do you think if games like Call of Duty or Destiny offered full VR modes in addition to the regular FPS modes, that it would translate well to the current PSVR set up? Can the aim weapon controller allow for free movement too?

I wouldn't call this an onrails shooter since you can move around freely. It's a linear FPS and not like Rush Of Blood which is a true onrails shooter. Matter of fact Farpoint reminded me of Halo a couple of times. I really like how there are parts in the game when you're just walking around with few or no enemies around. It really gives you a sense of being on another planet. And then you take a look behind you and you see your shadow moving along, it's nice little touches like these that makes this a great game.

Too bad I just completed the game, its campaign isn't really long especially if you're playing this for hours on straight. I'm looking forward in trying the co-op mode and definitely will play the campaign mode again. The game plays great, looks great and some parts of the game really have to be played first habd to be believed.

I consider Farpoint one of my favorite PS VR games now and as far as immersion goes, it's right up there with REVII, Batman, Rush Of Blood, Rogue One mission and London Heist.

Can't wait for more FPS games using the aim controller. A new Killzone game where you can play the entire campaign in VR perhaps.....

You can't really rotate like that, you have to keep walking and then turn your body. You cannot actually shoot behind you. It's limited but it works well IMO.

What I mean is, the baddies hsve a set pattern and you basically have to keep walking forward. Bad description from me I suppose. It feels like it's guiding you rather than being in control like fallout 4. Anyway, it's a good game.

I was more impressed with the gun than the actual game though. I enjoyed RE more to be honest.

How is the movement in this? More like Robinson or more like RE:7?

Number 2 in the weekly UK charts guys. That is some achievement considering the small (at the moment) user base.

I remeber Robinson being very difficult to move... this is very smooth like doom controls.

How is the replay value on Farpoint? Can you set different difficulties, select levels, adjust options to change things up?

Once completed, you can select levels.

No different difficulties or additional options to the ones that were already there from the beginning.

But even with its rather short campaign you'd want to go through it again just because it's so awesome and fun to play. Hopefully we'll get a sequel or additional content, wouldn't mind paying for some story expansions.

Haven't tried the co-op mode yet, matter of fact I haven't had PS Plus in over a year.
