2 months without a new post? Nobody else watching this?!

This season has been great so far, nice to finally see the group moving forward with the platform.

Me.

I loved it when Gilfoyle skull f---ed Gavin's laptop. Nice to see Tara again too (much to Dinesh's discomfort).

Silicon Valley got renewed today, but a major change is coming to the show:

Quote:
“The producers of Silicon Valley and T.J. Miller have mutually agreed that T.J. will not return for Season 5,” HBO said in a statement. “In Erlich Bachman, T.J. has brought to life an unforgettable character, and while his presence on the show will be missed, we appreciate his contribution and look forward to future collaborations.”
Erlich has been such a great character and he'll be impossible to replace. There's the obvious issues, like the guys will either need to move out of his house or come up with a reason why they're there but Erlich's not, but he also brings a different dynamic to the show since he's not as big a part of Pied Pipers day-to-day business, even though he wants to be.

Maybe in this season they finally don't get knocked back to square one at the end of the season like always and finally have a reason to move out of his house

I will miss Erlich though for sure

How much time does it actually take out of your schedule to shoot a 10-episode half hour season sitcom... it's like a quarter-part-time job to start with. Miller needs to man up and stick out his career choices.

I watch it, but I wait until it's all done and watch it all in one night, or over two if I have to. I started doing that after season 1 where it seemed like every one episode would be good but the one after it would be bad... so watching it all at once made it easy to forget the bad and just move right to the next.

I'm sure it's more than just that, he's married and probably still tries to do comedy and thanks to SV, he's more recognizable and probably wants to capitalize on that and do more movies.

Won't be the same without T.J.

Enjoying this season so far, such a consistently good show.

FWIW, I heard from one of the show's directors that he's a huge pain in the ass to work with - massive ego, unpleasant to crew etc - and that was on the last season.

But yeah, I'll miss the character. They'll need someone to fill that vacuum.

So basically he's like his Silicon Valley character in real life?

As long as they keep Thomas, Amanda, Zach, Martin and Kumail, I'm good.

It's literally the only comedy I watch these days. My favorite by far. At least until Curb Your Enthusiasm returns.

I for one never cared for his character, so I really won't miss him. I wonder how they will handle it. This is my 2nd favorite comedy next to Veep.

I like Erlich but his leaving could give the show a needed change. I still love the show (Sundays at 9:00 are my favorite hour of TV with this and Veep) but not much has changed over the show's four seasons. It's been a pretty consistent formula where it appears the characters are going to have some success before they do something stupid and fail. Maybe getting rid of a core character will help the show go a new direction.

He's definitely one of my fav. characters on this show. I have no doubt it will still be funny but i'll miss his character quite a bit. He's hysterical.
