agreed

Being a huge Nolan and Batman Begins fan I was avidly following any news on the Dark Knight (and I was slightly disappointed with the end result, maybe because I overhyped it for myself).

I read about the awesome portrayal of the Joker Ledger was creating and I still would have been all for him winning the Oscar if he was alive.

The academy, however, usually picks crap to win and if Ledger hadnt died I doubt they would have even given him a nod. They are saps for that kind of stuff.

Honestly, I still cant get over Dances with Wolves beating Goodfellas for Best Picture in 1990. Only thing I have ever agreed with them on was The Departed.

Better? More diversified? possibly.

But none of Downy Jr.'s single performances matches that of Ledger in the Dark Knight.

I didn't think Robert did that good of a job in Tropic Thunder, so its a no brainer for Heath.

heath hands down. as far as the death thing, that would be an insult to him and his performance if someone gave him the win just for that. his performance blew me away.

As much as I did enjoy Heaths role, I will be VERY surprised if he wins the oscar.

I've said it before here, and I'll say it again. From a strictly industry stand point, Heath Ledger should be honored in a completely seperate way.

Give him his own oscar, seperate from everything else for reinventing an already classic character.

The reason I have stated this is because an academy award is guaranteed work and a huge rate increase for both the talent and the people who manage their lives. Giving it to a dead man is a waste and will only hinder an already shotty and rotting Hollywood.

R.I.P Heath Ledger....the only Joker
