Default Speaker wire & Banana Plugs

Will this speaker wire:

http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

Fit into these banana plugs:

http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

And will those banana plugs fit into the back of polk monitor 60's?

If the links are dead its just 14 gauge speaker wire and some closed screw banana plugs. Thanks for your help in advance!

Yes, says right on the Banana plug description:
Can accept 18 to 12 AWG speaker wires.

Thanks JNM, not sure how I missed that. I was just skimming through another thread and someone said he couldnt get 14 AWG wire into close screw banana plugs and I got a little worried. Thanks again!

I just got open screw type banana plugs because you may want to upgrade wire one day and that'll take any size.

JNM, do you have banana plugs running into the back of your polk 70's and 30's? Or are the plugs just going into your receiver?

I meant to address that last post to Tilapiah. Do you have banana plugs going into your speakers?

I just upgraded from an old Sony Speaker system to Polk RM6750's. I haven't even gotten them hooked up yet. My new Onkyo is coming on Friday. So, to answer your question; no.

I'm actually going to buy speaker wire tonight. Thinking of getting the angled pin connectors. I've read somewhere that my speakers will not accept banana's.

The RM6750's won't, no. But they will accept the angled pin connectors. In fact, if you have 14ga or thicker wire, I'd actually recommend it. It's a little hard on the spring clips otherwise.

Sure!

I'm using the closed-screw ones from Monoprice. Honestly, I meant to order the open-screw ones and got them by mistake, not realizing it till my order arrived. Their return policy was a pain in the ass so I went ahead and kept them. There's a pic in my gallery of the back of one of the 40's with them. For convenience and neatness, I love them.

I have banana plugs only into the receiver. dont feel the need to buy them for the speakers since Banana plugs are only for the ease of hooking up wire...

Thank you! I am going after dinner tonight and 14ga wire was exactly what I was going to get! Thank you!
