Information regarding bluray writer - Blu-ray Forum

Hello friends, one of my friend bought a external bluray writer from Canada. It's some brand like I/o
If any body have/using writer with pc or Mac, will it play all region bluray discs on pc? Any idea friends?

Are you asking if it will play region free blu-ray discs? Yes, it will. Usually the drive should come with the OEM version of a playback software like PowerDVD or TMT or such like.

If you're asking if it will play locked discs from other regions, then not by default. To play other region discs after that usually requires using a software like AnyDVD to hack the region lock. One of my friends used a software player called Laewo which had built-in region unlocking, I think.

If possible can you please confirm laewo will play region locked discs from your friend? I think its available for Mac too whereas any DVD is Windows only.
