she's not a 90's icon though. she had one album out in the late 90's. the bulk of her career was spent in the 2000's.

for top 40 radio and pretty much all you see in front of you i could not agree more. i don't agree the 90's were bad, but then i'm sort of partial to the 80's and 90's myself.

It wasn't until the very late 90s (98,99) when Top 40 music started going downhill. Most of the 90s produced very good music.

i completely concur. the 90's showed just how good top 40 could be. of course you had the absolute dreck on the radio. but alongside that dreck radio was also playing bands and artists like 10,000 maniacs, the cure, r.e.m., suzanne vega, bjork, abra moore, liz phair, bruce springsteen, edie brickell, tracy chapman, and many many more. it's sad to see what radio has turned into.

Best thing in the 90s was the golden era of hip hop, some alt rock, and RATM

the golden era of hip-hop was in the 80's really. the early, early 90's has good hip-hop, but towards end it wasn't so great. alt.rock was definitely good in the 90's. though that depends on what type of alt. rock you are talking about. as for rage against the machine, the less said the better.

The late 80s and early 90's up til about 94 is the golden era of hip hop.

I blame pac and biggie, not because of what THEY did..but all the emulators who took "gangsta" rap and turned it in to watered down materialistic bullshit

According to a new report, Britney Spears' new album, Circus, will debut even better than expected!

Music insiders buzzed on Wednesday that she would move about 450,000+ copies by next Tuesday.

But, that initial estimate has been bumped up based on new sales analysis.

BritBrit is headed for the 470-490,000 mark!
