I'm switching over to a new cable TV provider due to the astronomical price increases resulting from the Spectrum takeover of TWC.
My new provider offers a small add-on pkg. for $5/mo that includes several channels that may be of interest to me, including MGM HD. Just glancing at the current listings for MGM HD, it looks like they show a lot of good catalog stuff. Anyone have any opinions on that, as well as the PQ quality of their HD movies ? Thanks. |

I don't think I've ever watched something on there. I'm on Verizon (channel 744).
But, they are showing a Chuck Norris movie now, so that's all good in my book. The next 4 movies are "Save Me," "Bank Shot," "What's New Pussycat?" and "Clean Slate." The next movie is "Bio-Dome." Definitely recording that one. |

I only watch it during the free preview times but they have good films once & awhile. Sony Movie Channel which should be a part of that package has shown movies I like not on Blu-Ray like Loose Cannons Gene Hackman & Dan Aykroyd when it was shown. It's PQ also looks as great as Christine's to me.

I used to watch it in the beginning when it aired movies commercial free but stopped watching when they started inserting commercials into random spots in the movies.

I had TWC which is now Spectrum. I'm still on the TWC pricing and packages. MGM HD is one of the channels I'll lose when I switch. I'm sort of sorry to lose it. I'll gain HDNET and 3 other movie networks I've never heard of(RetroPlex, Movieplex, IndiePlex). MGM HD seems to have a string of decent films every 2 weeks or so, with some garbage in between. They did go from commercial-free to one short commercial break midway through each film quite sometime ago.
