Has anything been changed from the original DVD release or is it the exact same movie?

I think there were some re-shoots or at least special effects have been beefed up.

This movie was pretty bad.

Fishy CGI, bad acting, ridiculous premiss.

Reminded me of 127 Hours, The Descent, and The Shallows (obviously). 127 Hours for being stuck in one location. The Descent for trying to create a claustrophobic and anxiety inducing atmosphere. The Descent did it with caves, and 47 Meters Down tried to do it with being underwater. The Shallows, well, for obvious reasons.

There were multiple parts of the film where the entire crowd started laughing, and it wasn't because of comedy. It was one of those "horror" movies that is so bad, it circles all the way back around to being unintentionally comical and ridiculous.

The whole reason for them going diving in the shark tank was cringe-worthy and kept bashing us in the face with it. Like, very cheesy dialogue and just a ridiculous set-up. It doesn't take TOO long for the movie to get going, but I'm just glad it comes in right around 90 minutes. Anything longer and I would have wanted to leave early. The movie ALMOST redeemed itself with the ending, but ended up not.
[Show spoiler]They almost make it to where they both die, and that would have been awesome.

Ultimately, I felt zero tension, zero anxiety, and zero care for the characters. I didn't care who lived or died. I didn't care if they were saved. I couldn't get drawn into this movie. If you want to see a bad movie that can kinda be a fun time, go for it.

3.5/10

This was suppose to be DTV but I dont know what the studio who bought it saw in it to want to put it out theatrically. It looks horrendous.

Apparently they saw in it a good movie that deserved better. And of course a chance to make money after the success of The Shallows. Reviews are pretty good.

Or they were contractually obligated to give it a theatrical release and beef it up after the success of The Shallows.

Weinstein/Anchor Bay was releasing it on DVD. Then Entertainment One bought it for a theatrical release.

I read an article where it mentions the ending is shocking and you don't really see it coming.. I'm quite curious to find out how "great" that ending is despite the fact I have no interest in this movie.

I didn't see it coming, but it still kinda chickened out. It was headed to be super redeeming and great, if they would have left the final 5 minutes off.

I still prefer The Shallows ending despite its silliness

I thought the ending nearly ruined the whole thing. It wasn't great to begin with, but the ending was just really bad. As for the movie, it was just okay. Definitely if you're on the fence about it, just wait for streaming or Blu.

Surprised this got 5/10 review on this website. From the feedback in this thread, I was expecting a 3 or less.

I mean, take my review with a grain of salt.

I'm really harsh when it comes to wide release, studio horror.

TOTALY agree! I thought the movie itself was kinda silly , but fun, and the dialogue was exactly what I would expect from 2 girls stuck in that situation.

Just saw it. Liked it quite a bit. More thriller than horror. It's a fun popcorn summer flick. Better than most shark centric films.
