I want this movie in BD

I guess that I won't be able to play this because it's region 2? (BD noob). Figuring this thing is in French. Damn I love this movie enough to listen to it in frawg

Jeff Kleist was just commenting about this movie in The Digital Bits Insider's Thread. JK believes that it could very well be released in 2009, because it is the 25th anniversary year. Hopefully, it will happen sooner rather than later. And, region B discs will not be playable in your region a PS3.

It does say in the information on the website you posted that the languages are in both French and English.

This French release of Dune features the theatrical version, has English audio (dts HD MA) and is region-free. Played fine on my US Panasonic.

Hmm, that's interesting. I look on the site and it indicates region 2 which I'm pretty sure my BD player won't do? Do some BD players have the ability to play BDs from any region?

The movie itself will play on an American player, but the extra features won't because they are in the standard PAL format.

Save this link, it's a blu-ray region code list that's updated whenever a new title comes out. The different regions are listed on here and the countries that fall into those regions. BTW Blu-ray only has 3 regions A,B, and C.

Even though the PQ on the HDDVD is quite good (HiDefDigest gave it 4/5), it would be nice if Universal did a new remaster, it being Dune's 25th Anniversary next year and all....I'm sure the BD would have an equally nice bump up in audio too (from DD+).

Does not state what region it is for and what audio codecs it uses..

Does anyone have this and could let me know..

I live in Canada, so need to know if I can play it..

Dune is a Region-Free title which, obviously, you will be able to play in Canada.

Of course I'm aware of that, but it has French "forced" subtitles when the English audio is chosen...

Let's just hope they release the uncut version on Blu-ray in the US, and not the optically censored version they used for the special edition DVD.
