Back to back Oz Perkins films.
Wish there was a thread for that one.
I made one for it in the Movies section. It doesn't have a blu-ray release, unfortunately.

As regards the "twist," I don't believe it is intended to come as a real surprise. There are enough hints dropped throughout the narrative thread and repetitive editing to allow the audience to figure that part out early on.
[Show spoiler]Kat reached out multiple times to others asking not to be left alone: the headmaster and Rose in particular. The ending is effective and devastating because you realize she is no longer possessed, but has committed the final murders in an attempt to lure the demon back into her (which is clearly impossible after the exorcism scene), a cry of desperation just to have someone (or something) in her life. And yet she ends up alone at the end.
In regards to the twist: well... maybe. You have good observations. I really wanted to like it and am glad it worked for you. I'm still thinking about it, so it may end up sitting with me. Like I said the elements were all in place, the whole just wasn't as great as the sum of the parts for me.

Do Netflix Originals get a physical media release ever? Do their original shows like 13 Reasons Why, Stranger Things or I Am The Pretty Thing...etc ever get a Blu-ray release? Or is physical media considered too old school for Netflix?

Ok thanks.
I'm new to Netflix streaming, so I'm just catching up with the (probably dumb) questions

From what I've heard, though, only shows that they weren't the producers of get released on physical media, which means we're unlikely to see this fine film or STRANGER THINGS on Blu-ray, because Netflix actually produced and owns them, and that's a damn shame.

I know Netflix started as a place that sent ya discs to rent. Do they still do that?
Again, I never ever used any form of Netflix until last month. So sorry if these seem like dumb questions

Almost every movie they buy the rights to. Which means we most likely won't get Okja or The Discovery either.

Does anyone know who played the headmaster of the boarding school? I didn't spot him in the IMDB credits.

Wow, this was really good. Excellent music and sound design. I think I'd say this is the second best horror movie I've seen in the past several years after The Witch.

Just bought the DVD (apparently theres no canadian bluray for some reason) and how many titles does that movie has? In the US its The Blackcoat's Daughter, in the UK its February and in Canada it The Devil's Daughter.

Wait, can you import the USA Blu? Is it region free?
It's kinda disgusting to buy a DVD in 2017

The original name for it here in the US was February.
It changed to The Blackcoat's Daughter a few months (I think) before it came out.

IMHO "The Blackcoat's Daughter" works best as the title.

In a related thought:
I would LOVE to have a complete version of the song "In The Garden" as sung by Kiernan Shipka, she performs it so damn well in the film.

If there is one thing that disappointed me about the film is its twist and characters. I already had the twist figured out before the second act, that
[Show spoiler]"Joan" and Kat are the same person. It's kind of suspicious when "Joan" doesn't exist in the same subplot as the other two girls. What I really did love though was the winter setting and the creepy boarding school, it added to the dread. But Rose and Kat as characters were my biggest issue because they were boring. Rose doesn't feel like she has a real character arc and as a result her death carries no impact. I get that Kat was attached to the demon because she was lonely but I only know it, I don't feel it. I never feel that she is isolated and lonely in the film, I didn't sense any sorrow from her. Calling the movie a masterpiece would be a stretch, the characters unfortunately fell flat to me.
