Seriously, just went to go check it out and nowhere to be found.

None on ebay either, was looking forward to this. Unless they pulled due to a production issue? Who knows.

Just found the listing on Yesasia (http://www.yesasia.com/us/the-age-of...0-en/info.html). The price of the Blu-ray is higher than the other sites but the order qualifies for free shipping so that sort of balances out the overall cost.

Over in Korea, this release went OOS everywhere within an hour.
That's beacause Song, KangHo is one of the most popular actor in Korea and Gong, Yoo is insanely popular right now.

You would think companies in Korea would know that and make enough lol

They never said limited to a certain number of copies right?

Maybe for these bigger releases they should do a month or two pre-order like other countries and then can make an appropriate quantity.

Had this in my cart at several sites last evening looking for the best price then made the mistake of deciding to sleep on it before buying--now this.

Hopefully YesAsia will come through, but I've had pre-orders cancelled from them before when they were unable to obtain stock.

I have never ordered from them, does this occur frequently? I see it is out of stock now even from them. Hopefully our orders go through.

In my experience, not frequently no. But given the popularity of this title, it's not clear what to expect.

...and I just received a cancellation notice for my preorder from YesAsia.

That must be some sort of record.

Once the release date comes around all the usual Korean sellers should have this on Ebay. I'd wait for that now.

I'm guessng they must have only released about 1000. Crazy when you consider the size of the production and the companies involved.

This reminds me when back in the day soundtrack labels like Intrada and Varese released limited editions of much sought-after titles like Predator or anything by the likes of Jerry Goldsmith and the title could be gone in half an hour. We knew exactly the time of the hour it was up for ordering - so you had to be ready, which could be nerve-racking I remember. Any tips of how to handle these much sought-after Korean titles? Are they announced with a date and then you don't know exactly when they are up for grabs, so you have to visit kimchidvd or nova 50 times a day to check or do they say when?

And does it ever happen that a company like FNC, when seing how fast a title was gone, decides to press say another 1000? I find it strange if they never do, especially with the extremely popular ones like Age of the Shadows, if they're interested in making money.

They won't do another limited edition. They'll just release a Plain edition which will still be nice but not come with all the bits and bobs

i've never seen a release sell out this quickly, in more than a decade of buying directly from korea. every film release is made in low quantities, so a new general practice isn't going to occur on the state of one film managing to do what most don't. there's simply zero market for physical media in K, for the most part.

I never learn. This has happened to me quite a few times over the years, I procrastinate and then miss out.
