Right.
This was posted already, but thanks again. The biggest (and richest) fans will double dip. I am a fan, but am on a budget, so it looks like I'll be waiting.

Default Maybe, Maybe Not

Actually, it is still all speculation. Just because Damon and Carlton haven't heard of plans to release season 1 and 2 doesn't mean they will never be released. They aren't in charge of the DVD/Blu Ray releases, anyway. And of course there will be a box set, either way. Considering the blu ray set is only $15 more than the dvd release Best Buy and Frys, as well as online, then I don't see what the big deal is.

And no one ever said that 1 and 2 won't be released as singles at the same time, only that they won't be released until the box set is out

I was planning to wait it out anyway. I have the first 3 seasons on DVD from before I got my BD player, and had decided to wait and see if all 6 seasons end up on blu-ray before buying any more. So, while the wait is long and painful, I had already committed to it anyway.

And honestly, I'd be very surprised if they didn't eventually give seasons 1 & 2 single releases at some point, even if there are no official plans at the moment.

Yeah, I'm going to keep buying individual seasons. I've got seasons 1 & 2 on dvd, and if they don't release them separately on blu then I just won't buy them. I can't imagine they would only release a box set of all seasons. They would know what a backlash that would create.

I agree. And even if they don't release them seperately....oh well. Good luck trying to stop me from buying them now and then double-dipping later on.

Yeah, I'm talking to you my significant other... Good luck stopping me.

There is no way once they have seasons 1 & 2 pressed for BD that they will pass up the money for the individual season sales over the few double-dips they get.

They may not decide to go back and get them ready for Blu now, but once they have the whole thing ready for a complete set I seriously doubt they won't sell them. Lost is too big - itn won't be another Fraggle Rock.

If anything, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that season 1 & 2 come out around the same time as the last season - then once they've already got masters for BD for the whole season, they add some boxed set exclusives and release the complete series.

That way you get the full double-dip benefit.

Thanks for the tip about LOST on BD. I am also holding out for UGLY BETTY to come out on Blu-ray. I will NOT buy it on oldray DVD.

I am also IRRITATED that Shrek The Halls did not debut on Blu-ray at the same time the oldray was recently released. What is WRONG with the studios????

I have the exact same plan. Prison Break has a similar situation, one of the seasons is on DVD only.

I think if season 4 sells strong, they will reconsider and put season 1&2 on D before too long, they are not going to miss the cash cow.

What I want to see is a few more TV shows on BD like House, NCIS, CSI etc.

Way to overreact. Idle chat about the possibility of a complete series set in no way precludes separate releases of seasons 1 and 2. We're a long way off from any official announcements, so there is nothing to worry about yet.

Season 4 is already on route from Amazon, so I guess I'm too late.

It's no biggie. I've got Seasons 1 & 2 on DVD and 3 & 4 on Blu-ray. I'll just sell them all(along with the inevitable Season 5 Blu-ray) on eBay and get the Complete Series box set when the time comes.

Doesn't say that anywhere in the article. Not definitively. Cuse is just going by what he knows.

What you should know is that show runners are often the last to know of any home video plans. Well, perhaps second-last, just before the general public. It's up to the studio, not them, when their work is released.

Let's not be worried, they will release them. Too much money too make, they know very well that a lot of people will be buying them again on BD even if they already have the SD. It's all about $$$$$$
