Lost faith in Del Toro a long time ago. He hasn't done anything great since Pan's Labyrinth imo and the only other one of his movies I really like is Blade 2. One of the most overrated directors working today imo.

He doesn't always make great films but I don't think he's ever made a bad movie. I just think expectations for him have been pretty high ever since Pan's Labyrinth. I still think he deserves the benefit of the doubt though IMO. At least you know going in that you won't be watching a bad film, just maybe not a great one (so far anyway).

I saw the trailer before War. Dont know how I feel about it though, and this is coming from a long time fan of Del Toro.

The sign language part was the only interesting aspect of it. Everything else felt very done before.

Looks nothing like what I was expecting, but in a good way. I've been waiting for another Creature from the Black Lagoon movie for a long time. Finally

Given the rating of the movie, that cutesy trailer is holding a lot back, which I suppose is a good thing.

What I like most is the fact that we are getting a high-profile pic starring Sally Hawkins.

I can't express how excited I am that GDT brought Gill-Man back. When people said it looked like Abe Sapien, I was intrigued, because I like that character a lot, but hearing the hints of mythology and history they're going to give the creature in the film has me excited. And, yes, a Hawkins led film is more than welcomed.

Well this looks quite intriguing. Edgar Wright gave the film his seal of approval in an interview a month or so back, and this trailer definitely makes the film look promising.

As if Edgar Wright is gonna say it's rubbish lol.

"Yeah I saw the new GDT movie, to be honest it's a piece of shit".

They do nothing but kiss each other's asses!

The question wasn't directed exactly at The Shape of Water, the question was "are there any other movies coming out this year that you're excited about?" He answered non-specifically about a few other titles, and then he specifically called out The Shape of Water and that he had seen it and that he really enjoyed it. So take that for what you will, but I've followed Edgar enough to know that he won't specifically call out movies like that if he didn't enjoy them.

Skipping trailers, I wanna go in blind. GDT and Cold War were all I needed to hear.

Couldn't get a Hellboy III to complete the trilogy, but we got a prequel about Abe Sapien instead?

Not a fan of the title though. Sounds very generic and unoriginal compared to previous Del Toro title's.
