region code & firmware upgrade - Blu-ray Forum

Hi there, just a stupid question.... if I have had North American BD player with region code and update then the firmware to an European model, will it change the region code and the system to PAL!?

Most likely not. Unless there is a specific difference related to hardware the firmware for a model should be the same regardless of what region it is coded for.
