It will probably be around $50 by the end of year.

I'm glad there isn't a bonus disc, since I bought all of the seasons individually when they came out. Got my S5 for free, since Amazon screwed the pooch on my pre-order. I complained on Saturday that it still hadn't shipped yet, and they shipped it next day and gave it to me for free...

This set is currently $54.99 on Barnes and Noble's website. If you use the 20% off single item coupon code: D4M8K3B, it brings the total down to $43.99 and includes free shipping since the order is over $25.

I finally gave in and grabbed this series during that promotion at BN. Since then I've received a damaged set with scuffs and damage to the spine of season 2, and I can hear discs rattling around inside of it - this is with the shrinkwrap intact.

I ended up placing a second order, my intent being to return the damaged one once I got a replacement. Turns out the second, while not nearly as bad (damage is minimal in comparison) still has scuffs and spine damage to season two, though thankfully no discs rattling around. I've read reports from another person who also ordered during this BN promo who reports a nearly identical experience.

So just a heads up to anyone thinking of purchasing this series - it appears they're repackaging damaged individual seasons for this box set. Unless you're willing to overlook the damage for a good deal, this is one set you may want to buy in-person.

Original order:

That really sucks.
I lucked out with the set I got for my wife, it arrived in perfect condition.

Yeah, same here. Mine arrived in perfect condition except for some slight warping of the plastic sleeve that holds the cover to season 2. No loose discs either. Maybe you can explain the situation to someone at a B&N store and exchange your copy of Season 2 for a mint copy if that was the only season that was damaged?

Were yours both from BN? I've been told folks who have used BBCShop for this title have also had similar issues, so it seems like it may not matter where you get it, but it is interesting to know that people may be getting good copies.

That's what I'm afraid of. It's the reason why I think I may end up keeping the 2nd one. I haven't opened it, just in case I'm able to find this set locally (which wasn't the case after I got the first). However, if I can verify the discs are fine and the cases in otherwise good condition, I'll live with the spine damage on the second copy, assuming that is the extent of it.

Unfortunately, it seems like I can't count on that being the case (everything intact inside) either

I got mine from BBC Shop and I had a couple loose discs and some wrinkling of a couple cases but the artwork and boxes were fine, the included booklet was fine too. I only paid like $30 shipped for my set so these few issues didn't bother me that much.
