Default A change of heart by HD DVD fanboys?

On some forums that I've been going to such as Hi def digest, Hd dvd fanboys seem to not be declaring that blu ray will die so much as everything is going to stay how it is and neutral players will take over. Do you think this is the hd dvd fanboys last argument that hd dvd will survive or do you think that dual is the way of the future?

In my opinion it's wishful thinking. Whistling past the graveyard.

HD-DVD will be over ppl don't want 2 formats they want 1 its obvious Blu-Ray is gonna smash HD-DVD and that could possibly the second last arguement they can think of last will be the Bill Gates idea ppl will download syuff of the internet and no physical means of hardware will exist except for a 1000GB HDD

If hd dud were to survive past the holidays, the only way it could is if Warner were to release that horrible hd dud, Blu Ray combo disc. They held it off until next year, I'm guessing to see what the total sales of both formats are. Which we all know will be Blu.

Begging for mercy and for their life as they are looking down the barrel of Blu-ray! Sheer desperation!

I was kinda hoping blu would end it this holiday season, but with Harry Potter coming out on HD-DVD also, it will keep them alive for a while longer.

This is classic bargaining, Imo. I see it as them saying/thinking "I am Ok with hd-dvd not winning as long as it survives."

I feel bad for people (incl. moi) who bought hd-dvd h/w and s/w. Especially those who have expensive h/w. The s/w is not really wasted, until the day the player dies and no replacement is available.

It's very obvious right now that Blu-ray prices by this Christmas will be very low.

The great BD-P1200 player is already down to $459 on Amazon, yes the BD-P1200, not the 1000.

Spider-man 3, Pirates 3, FF4SS, Die Hard 4, Ratatouille, Cars, as well as of course the day and date releases of Transformers, Harry Potter, etc., which always sell better on Blu, another price drop on the PS3 and 50 titles from Fox (you know they're waiting to do an onslaught in Q4) and it's all over for HD DVD.

There's no logical argument that can defend the fact that Universal is being pressed to release on the better selling format and that Disney and Sony are seeing good enough sales and response (Disney hits the road anyone?) to make going neutral not even a consideration. Their product is of too high a quality to fit in HD DVD's handicapped specs.

yeah...and when HD DVD dies...they will all be pulling for downloads....

it's funny how most of them hate Sony, but MS is like an abusive husband towards them....and they keep making excuses for them and trying to make Sony look like the villain...

LMFAO.....

this is really true. Its unbelievable. They will say whatever it takes to try and undercut blu ray. Ive seen it all. But.... but.... the porn..will make hddvd win.. If it not the porn its the HD downloads to undercut blu ray. The funniest thing about that argument is, downloading porn is the reason it wont be a factor, but they'll deny that to make their hddvd porn argument. phew.

Cool

When Universal finally goes neutral there won't be a need for dual players
