Default Question about watching movies online with friends.

Is it possible to watch a bluray you own with a friend over the network? Like if I put in say The Last Samuai, could he connect to me and then we both watch it?

Is this a future goal for ps3?

Thanks,
Ryan

HDDVD wanted to do something like this, but most people agreed that it was a dumb idea... As far as I know, there are no plans for this feature.

Some recent BD-live movies (particularly those from Universal) will allow you to watch a movie and converse (text chat to be specific) simultaneously over an internet connection, but with the caveat that you both have the same movie loaded in each machine. I suspect, however, that this is not what you had in mind and that you're wondering if you could watch the same movie from 2 different locations with only one disc... to which the answer is no.
