Default The Dark Knight: BD-Live probs, I think...

Hey everyone, I'm new to blu-ray all together, so I apologize if this is a dumb question.

So, I tried the BD-Live feature of the Dark Knight, and when I get into the Live menu, the only options I have available are Home, Media Center, and Help; however, there are other options such as My profile, Express Yourself, My Library ect which are all grayed out, I can't select them at all.

I did register, but for some reason none of those other options will work and I'm curious to try out that "make your own commentary" video feature, or at least look at what others have done so far.

So, is this a big problem, or something that's isolated to my player?

Yeah exactly, well I'm glad that at least it's not just my player.

so I was able to access those features that you indicated were greyed out but there isn't much there right now.

The Sony S350 out of the box is a BD Profile 1.1 but I believe is upgradeable to BD Profile 2.0 which I believe is what is needed to access BD-Live. Have you done a firmware upgrade on your player? I don't know if the firmware upgrade is available for this player or not but I'm sure others who have it can let you know if you haven't upgraded yet.

Yeah I have updated to the newest firmware; however, I'm not sure if it's a 2.0 update but I would assume that it is since I can access the page, I don't think it would work at all if it wasn't 2.0, but I could be wrong.

Is there a way to tell in the settings somewhere if it's 2.0?

So 2.0 is the BD Profile...I'm not sure which actual firmware upgrade brought it up to BD Profile 2.0 but if you look on the player forum thread you may be able to find what you are looking for.

Here is a link to the S350 thread:

Simply select the update feature from the Menu (if you're player is connected to the internet). It's the far left menu and the top option. If it's say PLAYER IS UPTO DATE then it's ok.

Next you'll need a USB KEY to plug in the back USB port. You can use a Kingston DataTraveler, as they are cheap and work perfectly. I suggest a 2gb one.

After that you're player is Profile 2.0 and you have enought memory to store a lot of cr** LOL

It's not just you. I'm having this issue as well with my 80Gig PS3. I have the latest firmware on it (2.53) and I know it's not a firewall issue.

I created a second account from the menu and I'm able to access all of the BD-Live content that I couldn't access from my first account. The only problem with this is I have an invite for the Christopher Nolan commentary event on Thursday with the account that's not working.

Maybe there were some errors with high numbers of people creating BD-Live accounts on the same day.

I submitted a ticket to WB in hopes they can clear it up before Thursday.
