Damn! Don't know what the reasoning is for that, this weekend looks underwhelming at the US box office with Leap!, Birth of the Dragon & All Saints coming out.

I only just saw the film yesterday and I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. Wished I had put my foot down on the 4K steelbook when it went up. I really hope it comes up again.

Saw the movie last weekend with friends. It's based on the story of Barry Seal, who piloted an airborne drug smuggling operation with the Medellin cartel with the support of the US government because he was also working as an informant for the CIA and DEA. Barry is played by Tom Cruise who brings his trademark swagger and charismatic smile to the part, while Doug Liman (Edge of Tomorrow) directs. American Made plays fast and loose with the facts in the name of creating drama and attaches a halo of cheerful "aw shucks" good-natured fun to a character who was essentially a drug runner, but the film is made in an unapologetic entertaining fashion and remains engaging from start to end.
