Default Off To The Casino...

I am off to the casino shortly here in Chicago... my buddy and I will go to the Indiana Horseshoe Casino.

If I win $1000, I will buy a nice 1080p 120hz 30-32 inch Sony LCD for the wife and my bedroom.

I am getting one when HD goes live in February 2009.

I currently have a 27" Sony WEGA 1080i tube... but it is too thick on the dresser...

Wish me luck... Blackjack be hot tonight...

I lost $400 on a hand of blackjack once.

...best advice I could give...Don't drink and play, when you're up walk away.

Never take more then you can't afford to light on fire. I use the casino for free parking and hit up the nickle slots, but it's still fun. It's a great way to waste 30-45 minutes and walk away basicly even.

Don't forget the free drinks.

But yes, never gamble more than you can afford to wipe your arse with, and never plan on what you will buy with your potential winnings, because then you will only be more disappointed.

Better idea

get a bunch of rolls of quaters

get in to your hotell room or bathroom

Start flushing them down the toilet

and eventually when it stops up and they all come back to the top

you will feel like a winner!

Started with $300, played $25 blackjack.

Had 4 stacks of $300 after a few hours... so I was up $900... I started increasing the bets to $50 and $100 and walked away with $500.

So, I won $200 for the night... yes, I was up $900 and 300%'ed my money... but I wanted to win big...

Oh well... a winning night is a winning night, but I could have been a little smarter...

Thats the golden rule. I'll go straight to the Bellagio and drop $100-500 on Black before I even check into my hotel.

That's like this story of a guy my dad knew.

For a long time he heard a voice in his head saying "Sell your house and goto Veags...."

He ignored it mostly until after a long time he thought it was something he had to do so he sold his house and went to Vegas.

When he go there the voice said "Goto Cesar's and the roulette table."

So he goes straight there and sees the tables.

Then the voice goes "Bet it all on 15 black..."

The guy is really excited now and places the bet right away.

Then the ball lands on 00

The voice says "Awwww sh!t!"

it's only dangerous if you let it be dangerous, of which most de-generate gamblers do. i myself, play against other players not the house. poker is better than table tables b/c the odds are even. the house does not have the advantage.

I usually go to the casino about once every three weeks. I have always set a limit on how much I am willing to lose, and never exceed that. For the year I'm up about $600. I have a friend that goes to the casino at least once a week. He doesn't set any limits, and will usually take out his daily max at the atm. I bet he's down at least $4,000 for the year, although if you asked him he'd say a couple hundred. He really can't afford this as he only makes about $40,000/annually and is currently trying to buy a house.

I used to play poker a LOT. Maybe 20 or 30 hours a week in Casinos.

I had a MIGHTY bank roll going...started with $40 and built it up to about ten grand or more. Used a lot to pay for school, and then lost the rest in a week. Almost every hand I lost on was pocket Aces and ocket Queens. 2 times in one night and 4 times that week I lost all in with my trips on the flop, every time to a river straight or flush. Once to a gutshot on the river. I really only lost maybe 20 hands, but they were huge hands.

I know everyone has bad beat stories, but I dont many people have ever hit the number of bad beats that I hit in a single week. I play online now in very low priced games, and I still see less bad beats.

I have not played seriously in a casino again... been about a year and a half.

I have been twice, once broke even on poker after 5 hours, and once made $10 on blackjack.

Before I played poker I used to play blackjack, and over about a year I would lose about 1-5% of what I bet. I called it my savings account with the worst yield in the country. I got a ton of free stuff, but playing blackjack every day gets old.

Going to college in a gaming town is fun...
