Can't wait! The first of two specials for Netflix, too.

I always found him funny waaaaaaay back when as a stand up comedian but found his TV show the most horrible crap ever. Oh well.

Greatest TV show of all time, the only thing that comes close is Curb.

Seinfeld is definitely my favorite TV show of all time. I've seen all the episodes I don't know how many times. Even owning the DVDs, I'll still watch the reruns on TV when I happen to catch them. I've just never grown tired of it. Aside from maybe some fashions, it's barely dated, too, thanks to largely avoiding current events.

Definitely checking this out, watched Jerry on Norm MacDonald's show yesterday and watched Norms Netflix special, two great comedians!

I've never been a huge Seinfeld fan, but this sounds interesting.

Same man...I continuously still watch the reruns on cable to this day and STILL laugh. I truly don't understand why it doesn't get old!

I'll look forward to checking out this special.

I saw Seinfeld's stand up at Caesars in Las Vegas on September 8th and loved it. I was a little disappointed watching Jerry Before Seinfeld because a lot of the material in that special was the same material he used in his stand up set. I was a little surprised he wouldn't make the material for the special unique, especially since he doesn't do a lot of stand up. I still enjoyed the special and thought it was very good though and am glad Netflix has spent so much money on stand up specials.

WHy would he? 95% of people who watch the special haven't seen him live in standup. It's all new material to most people.

A lot of comedians talk about retiring material as soon as they do a special. They want audiences that come to their show to get fresh material. Louis CK and Kevin Hart for example.

Seinfeld isn't one of those comedians. He tends to work on material for a long time, honing it and then keeps it in his greatest hits. The last time he retired material that I remember was after his show "I'm telling you for the last time."

Of course that is usually for people that see the special first, then see him live. Not seeing him live before his special airs.

The special was good, but I was hoping for a bit more on his life in those early years. Going on the Tonight Show, how he started development on the Seinfeld show.
