Pick your favorite screwball comedy!
I limited the selection to 10 picks, one of them being 'other', and limiting it to just 1 film per director. I tried to chose the most recognized, hope to have selected well. Last edited by principehomura; 09-08-2017 at 10:26 AM. |

To Be or Not to Be, then Nothing Sacred and then It Happened One Night.
Never been a huge fan of Bringing Up Baby, the comedy is to broad for my taste. |

Nice to see Nothing Sacred mentioned! I thought it was gonna be ignored, usually it is under-estimated!
I was unsure which one to pick between Bringing Up Baby and His Girl Friday... at the end decided that the last one was too similar to Nothing Sacred and decided for the fun. Of all the omissions, I am sorry for The Thin Man, but I didn't want too many films and decided it was too myster-ish. |

His Girl Friday
This is not only my favorite comedy of this type but one of my favorite films period. It's just brilliantly written and has great lead performances by Grant and Russell. Hawks does a wonderful job directing as well, of course. |
