RM 10 or Rm85?

Hi Everyone,

This forum helped me pick my receiver and I am back for help with my speakers. From what I have read I have a few choises below. Can anyone suggest what would be a good choice?

Polk RM 10
Polk RM 85

From the very very little I know i could not find major differences between both but that the RM 10 was having 3.25 inch dia midrange and the RM85 was having 2.5. Honestly I dont even know which one should be better.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My budget is $600 (No + since this is a stretch and getting the wife approval here was a tough ask )

What receiver do you have? Is there any opportunity for buying some now and adding later?

If not and those are the only two choices, then go with the set with the bigger drivers- the RM85.

Can you go for larger speakers?

I have a Denon 1909 that i got recently and want to change my speakers. Due to various reasons ( live in a condo, smaller room etc)I need to go with satellite speakers. My idea was to get it as a total package now. What would be my choices to build them over time?

If you chose over time, you can go with a 2.0, 2.1, 3.0 or 3.1 setup with a combination of fronts, center, and subwoofer. It opens up the possibilities and brands more, as well as the quality of the speakers.

Alternatively there's a ton of other brands out there, like Klipsch, Polk, Axiom, eD... on and on.

I took a look at Energy 5.1 and looks impresive. Between Polk Rm85 and Energy what would be your recommendation ( i know the Polk does not come with the sub).
