I didn't mind the first after it got past that lame beginning with young Michael. Once he busted out of Smith's Groove, it actually entertained me.

He said he didn't want this one to resemble the original sequel so that makes kind of excited. It gives him the ability to take the story anywhere he wants, and that can lead to a new fresh story. So yeah the character may not be original, but at least it looks as though we'll get an original story and so for that I'm excited.

Mike survives everything!

And I liked the first one after the stupid backstory...the only thing I disliked was how there was not suspense or build up but whatever.

not threadcrapping, just moviecrapping. i hated rob zombie's halloween. i dont get why movies are being remade when they're great to begin with? sure, reboot a franchise that sucks or performed horribly in the BO, but remaking something that's considered a classic just to make more money? oh, hey, i guess i just answered my own question there.

I guess it's just as well. I mean his "original" movies are just rip-offs of classics anyways. I like how, if your white and you live outside the city limits you're automatically a crazy, inbred, redneck, serial killer. Way to milk the stereotype Rob.

I am excited to see ROB ZOMBIES interpretation on a sequel to HIS own film remake. If you aren't a fan don't see it, but for the fans of his artistic work (yes I said artistic!) we will all be pleased to see it. I don't know how he is going to go about this from being that Michael did get shot in the face but maybe he disappears at midnight and comes back next halloween lol. Who knows but this should be another awesome installment of his own movie.

I tried giving Zombie a third chance. I hated House of 1000 Craps and The Devil's Retards, so was like ok third and final shot. I found the movie extremely boring until he broke out of the mental hospital. I dunno maybe it is just me, but after I see a Zombie movie once I never want to see it again.

In a fight, who would win between Jason Vorhees and Michael Myers ?

Great news. I liked his remake, while it wasn't perfect it still was good. Can't wait to see what he has up his sleeves this time.

Good point. It's not like that stereotype hasn't been used in COUNTLESS other movies.

No one is aloud to express their opinion? Sorry but I agree with most on this. A classic should not remade. Movies that sucked and failed miserably (IE Ang Lee's Hulk) deserved to be rebooted. Just because you love all of Zombie's work does not mean that opinion is shared by everyone. I am not the tool that came on here and stated Zombie should die, be killed, or be raped by Magic Johnson like most fanboy trolls.

I agree. His characters possess every white trash stereotype he can stuff into them and it's annoying. That said, his Halloween remake sucked horribly and not just for his characters.

My biggest problem with Halloween it was boring as hell until he escaped from the mental ward. Yes sometimes a back story is good for the public, but in the original the movie was creepy. You had a stalker, you didn't know when he was going to strike. This kept you on the edge of your seat. In the remake by Zombie we saw every cliche and everything was drawn out. Like the other two movies zombie made, i never want to seem them again. He overloads the screen with numerous characters that drives the audience insane. He keeps adding more characters and draws out the ending. See house of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects for this. I am sorry, he claims he wants to bring horror back to its roots, i have yet to see that.

Rob Zombie is no different than any of those directors. Most horror films that take place in the country, woods or highway usually involve a white trash serial killer, maniac or demented white family.

To critize Zombie for doing the same as so many famous directors and screen writers and creators of such classics before him is just idiotic.

That's retarded...
Not to derail I believe it is statistically proven that the majority of serial killers are white male anyway. Plus could you imagine the outcry of people if a major movie was release that a mass murdered was portrayed by any minority?

Let me re-pharse. The ending was exciting and the five minutes in the beginning when he killed the bully and his family gave the film promise, but the middle killed the film. You could not wait until he got older and started his rampage. This a key element in all Zombie's films. He is better at music and should stick to that.

That was more then 15 to 20 mins, the unrated version I saw ran over two hours. Him growing up in the asylum and all that jazz was almost an hour. That is one of my compliants. Also with that long stretch, Zombie all of sudden jams everything together to finish the movie. Boom, boom, boom. The movie was a mess in my opinion. Halloween could have been a lot better from the finished product we saw. To me this movie was no better then the sequels excluding three, that was an abomination to the series.
Honestly do we care why Myers is the way he is? No, that is what makes him so dark and sinster. Why couldn't he just leave him as a ****ed up guy like in the original? No he had to have a striper mom, slutty sister, and jerk of a step dad/boyfriend. The kid had to be fat and overweight. i would have been more impressed if Zombie just made a sequel.

Really looking forward to this! I thought Devils Rejects kicked much a** and I really liked Robs 'reimagining' or whatever you want to call it of Halloween quite a bit. and yes i loved the originals, both 1 and 2, and even found a soft spot in my heart for 3 which had nothing to do with the first 2 but was just completely twisted.

My only problem was that Michael Myers, who is supposed to be a 'normal' dude, albeit completely mad in the new version, was freaking huge, 7 feet tall and mucles from hell. how did he get that way?

and

2. the directors cut with the rape scene in Michael's room was completely unneccesary and Idiotic. Still scratching my head on that one.
