My son is 7 months and we took him to see Santa. He was looking around confused at first, the lady got about 5 shots, then he started to pull the REAL beard...it got funny from there. He thought Santa was a big toy or something.

Finally he got scared b/c we were all trying to make him smile, then the tears started....

Funny story on CNN

My 2 year old didn't cry this year. She freaked out last year.

Our 4, 3, and 1 year old loved it. No tears at all, nothing but excitement from our oldest son and daughter. My 3 year old girl actually ran up to santa and couldn't stop smiling. It was awesome to see and made my month. Our oldest simply asked for a Speed Racer game (he's getting one for the PS2) and didn't know what else to say. Our 1 year old, he just sat there and waved because my wife was waving at him.

If our kids were upset or scared, we wouldn't have made them sit with santa just so we could have a pic.

My 2 year old went for the first time this year. She was good while we waited in line, but when we got to next in line, she started losing it. We sat her on his lap, and she was a bit confused...then Mommy left...the silent cries started (parents know these are the worst since they start quiet, then erupt). Once Mommy sat next to her again and they brought out the stuffed moose, she was good.

Yeah I agree with that as well. If they started outright we wouldn't either. We got lucky with the first 5 shots, then it was off to pick out a good one.

Yeah, but these pics in this book...it's like the parents are exacting some sort of revenge because the tots being needy are cutting into their lovin' time

I didn't review the pics in the book, just read the article and saw the 1 pic.

my daughter sat for santa when she was 10 months not a problem.

took her back the next year, didn't want anything to do w/him.

we have yet to go to the mall this year, so we'll see how it goes.

she did think the easter bunny was scary this year though!!!
