Here's a great look at the exploration of the world map via animal transport. This video suggests a day/night cycle is possible.
This will be a single player game, likely offline as with the first game.

I was kind of hoping to see Fangorn forest, Mirkwood Forest, Rivendell, Hobbiton, Gondor and many of the areas seen in the movies, along with some epic scenery when climbing up onto a mountain, overlooking the forest and valleys in the distance.
Not that we won't get some of that, but in more compact areas from the look of this demo so far. Even so, still looks like the fun challenge and cool combat of the first game returns with some new ideas.

The possibility of a seamless world and day/night cycle increase after watching that video above.

This will import your greatest nemesis and greatest ally from the first game. Interesting.

Interesting, thanks.
My greatest nemesis' were any villain bosses that pushed me back when I tried to roll over their back to do the slice ghost fury attack. Tough game, but if you separated the boss from the horde of enemies, it was easier.

I really hope there's a day/night cycle this time.

It gives nothing you can't just earn yourself by playing the game; if they want to make extra millions from impatient people who want to pay for progress, fine by me as long as nothing in the game is hidden behind a paywall.

I'll save my anger for the ones who lock different meaningful content behind retailer exclusive pre-orders that aren't just timed exclusives.

I was already waiting until Black Friday or the "Complete Edition" of this game anyway.

It's a slippery slope that the gaming industry will continue to try and maneuver. I don't really have a problem with it in multi-player heavy games, but when it starts creeping in to single-player only games, then it becomes a concern.

As long as there's a "fair" way to earn micro transaction products in game by playing offline or online and doesn't upset the balance of a game, I don't mind them doing this as a means to make more money. All it does is mean that people who are impatient can throw money at them to unlock things quicker that in the grand scheme of the story are a little inconsequential.

It makes good business sense and doesn't cheese off consumers doing it this way Imo.

The problem with these creates is they will sometimes have the same things. I rather they make it where you can pick through what you want to buy.

Just a matter of time before it becomes unfair. I don't trust companies to keep it fair or the general public to resist the purchasing if it does become unfair.

I know that there is a discord server that's quite big for Shadow of War. Monolith and WB Games hang out there. https://discordapp.com/invite/CfEr4E5

If it's based on patience, then I agree, no big deal about the micro transactions for the impatient.

I personally don't think micro transactions should be in single-player games. My reason for that would be it could effect the development of the game. We will never really know this for certain how micro transactions changed a game but it then benefits the developer to make the game a grind or grindier to try to get more people to purchase micro transactions and would not be that difficult to do. So originally only need ten resources to craft an item but to get people to purchase micro transactions they change it to 500.

I am not saying to skip this game just saying I don't believe micro transaction belong in single player games. Specially full price ones.
