Freedom anime language/audio problem. Help! - Blu-ray Forum

Hi everyone, I have an audio/language issue with the Freedom anime collection on blu-ray and was wondering if anyone else had the same problem. The problem is that when the language is set to English on disc 1, the voices are still in Japanese, but only for the scene before the opening credits and theme song. After that the English turns on without me changing anything. When I back it up to the first scene: Japanese…and then fast forward: English.

Does anyone else have the same problem or should I return the set for a new one? I am using my PS3 with fiber optic cable for sound. Thanks.

Yes, the 7-minute-ish prologue is only Japanese; I have no idea why and it is annoying. Perhaps it was tacked-on late and there wasn't time to dub it since I recall the DVD didn't even have the prologue.

Doesn't sound like a problem to me. These should be viewed in Japanese anyways. With English subs.

That's a matter of opinion. I always feel like I'm missing stuff when I'm reading.

Bandai is an evil F8ckt3rd corporation. Nobody likes HD DVD, so why screw half their audience.

When the show was originally dubbed in English that scene was cut. It's not a technical error issue with the disc.

Be lucky you have the US edition and not the UK. A great disappointment with horrible audio synching.
