Blu master, go Emotiva, like I plan to...if you want efficient amplifiers at a low price. UPA-7, I think is the one. $600-$700.

I'm all a-flutter trying to decide between an additional Dynamo, a Emotiva amp, or a 50" Panny plasma as my next big purchase early next year...

In my opinion, you'd be best off if you get the plasma first, the sub second, and the amp third.

Well, I just pulled the trigger on a Marantz SR5002 receiver that I'll be using the pre-outs on to my HCA-1000. Once I get a 5 channel amp, specifically a Parasound Halo A 51 or 52, I'll swap it and pair my hca amp with my p3 in my second setup. So I've got a tv and new receiver on the way this week, Merry Christmas to me!

As they say, once you go separates you'll never go back to a receiver.

True story. I love having people listen to music through my receiver, and then I swap from my receiver to my P3 and HCA-1000 and letting them hear the difference. It's very noticeable, for the better.

I'm not currently running one in my house, but I've installed many of them at work. (Crestron, MediaMatrix, DBX, Crown, London Sound, BiAmp...etc etc)

We had the Onkyo PR-SC885P, but sold it, because we can achieve the same result with a BDP-S550 and save a lot of money.

I don't quite understand this post - bdp-s550 is a BD Player even though it does its own decoding - this thread is about pre/pros or using a reciever as a prepro (regardless if your bd player does the processing). This thead is to see how many of us use seperates.

On the other hand - seeing that you were using a high-end prepro, my question is - did you go from your BDP-S550 -'s outs to your external amplifiers - or did you just buy a receiver? Whats your equipment list - You have striked my curiosity?

I got the PR-SC885P to do larger venue and outdoor surround sound through active pro PA speakers (Yamaha MSR400s), we were using a BDP-S350 hooked in to that. One day i woke up and realized, I didn't really need the Onkyo to do what I wanted, I just needed BDP-S550s, use the line outs on there, in to the Yamaha active speakers. Now i have to use each individual volume on the speakers, that's my only drawback, but it saves a lot of money.

Just curious, which parasound line were you using before you upgraded? And that's a nice set up you have!
